Overview

Rail transit systems - including metro, light rail, and high-speed rail - operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, with zero tolerance for power failure. Every station, tunnel, depot, and trackside facility depends on a stable, fast-responding low-voltage distribution system to keep passengers safe and trains running on schedule.

From traction substations stepping down grid power to the 400V auxiliary bus, to motor control centers (MCCs) supplying ventilation, lighting, and safety systems across each station, low-voltage distribution cabinets form the backbone of rail electrical infrastructure.

Application Zones

Traction Substations - 400V Auxiliary Power Distribution
Each traction substation steps high-voltage grid power down through transformers (typically 110kV/35kV → 10kV → 400V) to supply station auxiliary loads. The 400V distribution panel is the heart of this system, feeding environmental control, communications, and emergency power simultaneously.

Our main distribution panels and incoming/bus-tie assemblies are built for continuous duty in substation environments - resistant to vibration, electromagnetic interference, and the thermal cycling that comes with round-the-clock operation. Operating mechanism components and drawer connectors are designed for drop-in compatibility with GGD, GCS, MNS, and GCK cabinet formats, enabling fast replacement within the narrow overnight maintenance window between the last and first train of the day.

Station Power Rooms - Motor Control Centers (MCCs)
Every metro station houses a dedicated low-voltage power room supplying critical loads: HVAC and tunnel ventilation systems, escalators and elevators, platform screen doors (PSDs), working and emergency lighting, fire suppression pumps, and drainage systems. Many of these loads are classified Safety-Critical (SC-1), meaning a single insulation failure or loose connection can trigger a station-wide evacuation.

Our MCC drawer connectors, busbar insulators, and operating interlock mechanisms are rated to 1000V and tested to UL94-V0 flame retardancy - providing the electrical isolation integrity that fire safety auditors and transit authority inspectors require.

EMU Maintenance Depots - Workshop Power Distribution
Rolling stock maintenance depots demand robust, high-capacity power distribution for heavy-duty workshop loads: overhead cranes, welding stations, train washing facilities, and diagnostic equipment bays. These environments expose switchgear components to metallic dust, moisture, mechanical vibration, and frequent switching cycles.

Our heavy-duty busbar clamps and connectors - rated for 630A to 4000A bus systems - combined with mechanically interlocked earthing switch assemblies, provide the safe, reliable power distribution that depot engineers depend on for both routine maintenance and major overhauls. IP54-compatible construction ensures long service life even in demanding workshop conditions.

Trackside & Tunnel Installations - Distributed Auxiliary Power
Along the running line, auxiliary power is needed at regular intervals to supply signaling and communications equipment rooms, tunnel escape route lighting, track heating systems in cold-climate regions, and AFC (Automatic Fare Collection) kiosks at station entrances.

Space is severely constrained in trackside kiosks and tunnel niches. Our compact distribution board accessories, DIN rail components, and MCB accessories are optimized for installation in tight enclosures, while maintaining full compliance with rail electrical safety standard IEC 61439.

Why Our Products Fit Rail Transit

Rail transit procurement is governed by strict certification requirements, tight project schedules, and long equipment lifecycle expectations. Our low-voltage distribution components address all three:

  • Certified: compatible with IEC 61439
  • Interoperable: drop-in compatible with mainstream cabinet formats (GGD, GCS, MNS, GCK, MCC drawer systems)
  • Qualification-ready: free engineering samples, complete with dimensional data sheets and test reports
  • Tender-friendly: 30-day price lock on BOQ submissions to support competitive bid preparation
  • CAD-supported: .STEP and .DWG files available for all major components, accelerating factory acceptance test (FAT) drawing preparation

Whether you are specifying components for a new metro line, retrofitting an existing substation, or sourcing MCC accessories for a depot expansion, we provide the factory-direct supply chain reliability that rail projects demand.
